BN Leaders Confident Malaysia Will Achieve Vision 2020 Under Najib's Leadership

KUALA LUMPUR, April 10 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's clarification yesterday on various issues which were raised have strengthened the confidence of Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders towards achieving Vision 2020.

Several top BN leaders described Najib as a competent leader who was bold in coming forward to explain the various issues and criticisms brought up by several parties, including former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Gerakan president Datuk Mah Siew Keong said Najib's clarifications in a Special Edition TV3 Question and Answer Programme last night showed he was concerned about the people and gave detailed explanation on several issues.

He also called on all parties to stop whatever speculation and allegations against Najib so that he could continue with the national transformation agenda.

"BN will be focusing on resolving all economic and social problems faced by the people and will not be distracted by minor issues," he said when contacted by Bernama here Friday.

Sharing similar views was Pasok Momogun Kadazandusun Murut Bersatu (UPKO) deputy president Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau who said Najib's explanation on the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) proved he was truly a transparent leader.

He said as BN leader, he was confident Najib would take Malaysia to another higher level in the era of globalisation with various challenges.

"Even though Malaysians are free to voice out, we must evaluate first its truthfulness and effects on the country so that it will not lead to unrest," he told Bernama when contacted.

All BN leaders have rallied solidly behind Najib in his continuing struggle under BN for Malaysians to be on par with developed countries.

MIC deputy president Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam stressed that attempts to weaken Najib's leadership would only delay the transformation process of the country and hamper Malaysia from achieving development nation status.

He said MIC, a BN component party was committed to Najib's leadership to take the country's status to a higher level.

Meanwhile, People's Progressive Party president Tan Sri M. Kayveas said Najib had provided very clear explanations on several issues raised by various parties last night.

"Despite being unfairly accused by several quarters, he was forthcoming with his clarifications which were very sound to me. The PM (prime minister) is also aware several issues were actually made into propagandas by the opposition," he said.

Kayveas is also confident Najib will succeed with various transformations for the people and country soon and his leadership is essential for Malaysia to progress further.
