‘MH17 a national tragedy, don’t exploit it for political interest’

Tan Keng Liang has taken PAS to task for criticising Malaysia Airlines over the crash of its jetliner, reminding the party to not politicise the tragedy.
The Gerakan Youth chief said as the matter was still under investigation, the Islamist party should not try to pin the blame on the national carrier.
Tan, in a statement, said the Opposition should be considerate towards the victims on board Flight MH17, which was allegedly shot down over Ukraine, when issuing statements on the matter.
“This incident is a national tragedy and should not be exploited by any party for their political interest”.
He was commenting on a statement by PAS Youth chief Suhaizan Kaiat who criticised MAS for insisting on using the ill-fated route.
Tan pointed out that MAS’ flight route was approved by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and not subject to restrictions.
Earlier today, PKR politician Badrul Hisham Shaharin, who is commonly referred to as Chegubard, was slammed by netizens after tweeting that when a ferry capsized in South Korea, its Prime Minister resigned from the post.
In April, Chung Hong-won stepped down over his government’s handling of a ferry sinking that left over 300 dead.
While Chegubard did not specifically call for Datuk Seri Najib Razak to resign, many Twitter users reprimanded him for his remark, including calling him stupid.
A user identified as PilihanSigg tweeted: “No wonder Chegubard losses every time he contests, the quota for stupid politicians is full”.
