Gerakan Extends Christmas Greetings, Calls On Malaysians To Remain United

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 23 (Bernama) -- Gerakan on Monday extended Christmas greetings to Malaysians and called on them to stand united and reject any attempt to break the unity and peace that has been assiduously cultivated over the past six decades.

Its president, Datuk Mah Siew Keong, said the party strongly supported all forms of moderate practices in an effort to combat elements of extremism and other social and ecological ills.

"It will unravel our national unity and harmony if such attempts are left unchecked. It takes one thousand years to instill good elements, but only one day is required to destroy everything we have," he said.

Mah said Christmas was another opportunity to spread the meaning of togetherness, understanding and love among all living creatures.

"Merry Christmas and have an enjoyable holiday," he said.
