OCTOBER 21, 2019

Gerakan President Datuk Dr. Dominic Lau Hoe Chai called on the DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng to immediately make a clearcut stand on Asia Comics and Cultural Museum curator Hew Kuan Yau's “Belt and Road Initiative for Win Winism” comic book. At the same time, the government should also investigate the distribution of the comic books in secondary and vernacular schools. whether there is a minister or deputy minister involved in this matter.

He said after Gerakan looked into the contents of the comics, they found that some of the contents were inappropriate, including the promotion of communism and the labelling of Malays who support Uyghurs as radicals. It also contained DAP propaganda and should not be distributed in schools.

"Lim Guan Eng has always advocated that education and politics must be separated. But the “Belt and Road Initiative for Win Winism” distribution in schools has obviously turned against his claim. Lim Guan Eng can no longer remain silent. He must make it clear that if the comic book reflects DAP's position."

Gerakan President Datuk Dr Dominic Lau Hoe Chai made a statement today.

He said that it was not the first time for the DAP bringing politics into the schools. Before GE14, Lim Guan Eng taught children to sing "ABCDGST".

He supported Education Ministry ministry instructed to ensure all schools do not accept or distribute this comic book from any supplier because the contents of the comic would poison the students' minds and also be detrimental to national unity.
