Strong response at roadshow in Teluk Intan

ABOUT 5,000 people were present during the Mobile Community Transformation Centre event at the Leaning Tower Square in Teluk Intan.

Jointly organised by the Finance Ministry and Hilir Perak District Office on July 16, the event was launched by Teluk Intan MP Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong.
The event, which included some 28 government agencies, was held to provide various services including health checks, job interviews, dental care, road tax and driving licence renewal and other services to people in the area.

“The National Heart Institute counter was the busiest, attracting over 560 people for free medical check-ups.

“The institute brought along 40 specialist doctors and other staff for the event,” Mah said.

“I understand that 30 people were diagnosed with health issues and will be recommended for medical attention,” he added.

Mah also said that 50 job opportunities were offered by three local companies through Jobs Malaysia.

“Some 181 people applied for jobs and were interviewed by the three companies – Anson Bay Medical Center, QL Foods Sdn Bhd and MYTeam Engineering Works Sdn Bhd.

“Some 30 locals received job offers after the interview session while 29 candidates were eligible to attend a second interview session,” he said.

“I want to thank the organisers for holding the event and providing services to the public, especially the poor,” he added.

Also present during the event were Finance Ministry National Strategy Unit Deputy Senior Director M. Jana Santhiran, IJN Chief Operating Officer Akmal Arief Mohamed Fauzi, and Hilir Perak District Officer Shahrunaim Radzali.
