Gerakan to hold Deepavali Open House at Menara PGRM on Nov 6

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 26 : In conjunction with the forthcoming Deepavali which falls on October 29, the festival of lights, Gerakan Vice President Datuk Kohilan A. Pillay wishing all Malaysians especially Hindus and Sikhs a very happy and prosperous Deepavali.

Apart from its meaningful message in emphasising universal righteousness, Kohilan also stressed that the advent of Deepavali offers an opportune period of introspection to reflect on the wellbeing and happiness of the Indian community.

He said Deepavali would again highlight the unique presence and value of Indian community in a diverse Malaysian society. He said Deepavali is a time to renew our commitment to engage in sincere and proactive efforts towards ensuring a better living for Indian community on par with the rest of Malaysians.

Kohilan praised the government for announcing that a new blueprint for the betterment of Indian community will be launched in January next year. He said it was a much welcoming news in conjunction with the arrival of Deepavali which brought cheers and relief for the Indian community.

“Deepavali observance serves as a conscious commitment to strive for betterment and fulfilment in our society. The determination and fortitude to overcome negativity and challenges inspired by Deepavali should be renewed and strengthened as we aim to overcome challenges and achieve greater heights together as a nation,” said Kohilan.

Kohilan said Gerakan would like to invite members of the public to attend the party’s Deepavali Open House on November 6, Sunday 10am – 1pm at Dewan Wawasan Tun Dr. Lim Keng Yaik, Menara PGRM, Cheras. Gerakan National President cum Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities YB Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong will officiate the Open House. Malaysians from all walks of life are invited to join the gathering in celebrating Deepavali together. Details of the open house are as follow:
