Gerakan to hold Post-Budget 2017 Public Forum

Gerakan will hold a Post-Budget 2017 Public Forum on October 28, Friday to help various quarters in society to analyze the newly tabled Budget 2017.


In a press release by Gerakan, this forum invites experts in the field of finance to share their respective views from taxation, banking and finance perspectives as well as macroeconomic point of view. Members of the public are welcome to attend the forum.


The guest panel speakers invited are including President of Malaysian Association of Tax Accountants (MATA), Tuan Hj. Abd Aziz Abu Bakar; Fellow of Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS), Mr. Firdaos Rosli, and Chief Operating Officer of Asian Strategy & Leadership Institute (ASLI), Ms. Ng Yeen Seen. The forum will be moderated by political commentator Ms. Raja Sara Petra.


The public forum will be held at Auditorium University, Menara PGRM, from 8pm to 10pm. Gerakan Secretary-General cum Simpang Renggam MP, YB Datuk Liang Teck Meng is invited to officiate the public forum.


According to the press statement, guest panel speakers will discuss the impacts of Budget 2017 on Malaysian economy, challenges brought by Budget 2017 on Malaysia’s aim to achieve Wawasan 2020, benefits slated for members of the public and businesses under Budget 2017 and scopes within Goods and Services Tax (GST) that will be affected.
