Workers' Plight Takes Centre Stage In Gerakan Blueprint

KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 (Bernama) - Gerakan is currently in the process of drafting a transformation blueprint where the plight of workers takes centre stage along with other important issues.

Its president Datuk Mah Siew Keong admitted it was a challenging task but the party was determined to defend workers' rights and enhance the well-being of working Malaysians with no fear or favour.

"It's certainly the party's wish to witness nation building supported by a pool of vibrant, productive and healthy workforce," he said in his Labour Day 2014 message.

Mah also called on the government and employers to act in line with international labour standards by ensuring better protection of basic human rights in the workplace.
