The opposition should exercise some discipline and restraint during the campaign period in Ijok. Malaysia, since independence, has been known to have had peaceful elections, except in 1969. No one wants a repeat of that. The opposition should realise that the more they indulge in rough tactics, the more will they be ostracised by the public. People can see for themselves who the trouble-causers are. Certainly not the Barisan National, who believe in the rule of law. We are confident that voters in Ijok will choose the candidate who, not only is capable of bringing development, but can preserve the peace and keep out unruly elements.
