Gerakan National Youth Chairman, Dato’ Mah Siew Keong welcome the government reforms include turning the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) into an independent Malaysian Commission on Anti-Corruption (MCAC), setting up an independent advisory board and a parliamentary committee, as well as increase the size of the force and providing comprehensive protection for whistleblowers.
These efforts have shown the seriousness of Barisan Nasional (BN) Government in fighting the corruption.
Dato’ Mah also urge that more opposition member of parliament to be appointed in the Parliamentary Committee on the Prevention of Corruption in order to supervise the MCAC. We hope the opposition will play the constructive roles and assist the efforts of Prime Minister to fight corruption.
Gerakan National Youth hope that more reforms will be carried out soon including the proposal to set up the Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC). This is the chance for brave changes and Gerakan is fully behind the Prime Minister towards this direction for more transparency and accountability.
Dato Mah Siew Keong,
Gerakan National Youth Chairman
