Parti Gerakan fully supports Dato’ Seri Abdullah Badawi’s statement that the eligibility of Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim to contest should not be a factor in calling for elections. This is a responsible Government, and its first priority is to further improve the lot of the people. This will be accomplished by the successful implementation of the 9th MP and IMP3. As far as Keadilan is concerned, many prominent and senior leaders have abandoned it since its inception. They have no direction. The whole opposition is still unable to come to terms with each other, and cannot mount a serious threat to the Barisan Nasional. The Government has more important things to do such as delivering to the people, than to consider whether Anwar stand of not.
