| KUALA LUMPUR: Penang Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon has won the post of Gerakan deputy president without contest.
Dr Koh had a walkover when the party's number two, Datuk Seri Kerk Choo Ting, did not defend his post and instead challenged Datuk Seri Dr Lim Keng Yaik for the top post.
Dr Koh, a former vice-president, said that although he won the post uncontested, it was not without a lot of hard work.
Outgoing Gerakan Wanita chief Datuk Rhina, who did not defend her post, was nominated to contest a vice-president's post.
She said she had decided to offer herself as a candidate after receiving support from the grassroots. |
