Education is a basic human right and a national priority. It is too important to be left at the mercy of political interest or state parochialism. For too long, Education has been politicized. To bring about quality education that prepare one to thrive in a knowledge society involves making some hard choices. It means taking stance that the government and even some parents, education unions and other vested interest do not agree with...Are we ready to lead and serve towards knowledge society, and towards the direction that we believe in?

Objectives: a) Understanding the fundamentals of knowledge society, and its progress in the Malaysian context. b) Identify relationships between education and knowledge society. c) Identify roles and responsibilities of the civil society and political parties in steering education towards knowledge society. d) Foster smart partnerships and develop collaborative strategies among stakeholders.

long-tested
system of
constitutional
monarchy and
parliamentary
democracy.
Malaysians
must renew
their pledge
of
commitment
towards this
system and
resist
efforts
aimed at its
replacement.
Equally
important,
consultations
as a means
of resolving
conflict and
differences
must
continue to
be built
into our
political
culture.
