Expect no apology: Lim

Penang: Gerakan President Datuk Seri Dr Lim Keng Yaik said he is not afraid of threats by former Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to sue him for RM10 million for allegedly defaming the latter during the Batu Talam by-election in Pahang in January.

Dr Lim, who is also Energy, Water and Communications Minister, said he would not make a public apology as demanded by Anwar over the matter and had no qualms about repeating the remarks he made.

Dr Lim said Anwar was unhappy about certain remarks he made about the opposition boycotting the by-election and gave him until March 12 to effect the apology.

Dr Lim said the threat was just an attempt prevent him from talking and that the newspaper that reported it was not presented with a similar demand.

"I don't know whether to laugh of cry. You think it is that easy to make money?," he said cynically.
