IPOH, Aug 17 (Bernama) -- Gerakan acting president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon has told Pakatan Rakyat to stop making statements that there will a change of government. Such a remark would adversely affect the country's stability particularly economically, he told reporters after opening the annual meeting of Perak Gerakan delegates here Sunday.

"Day after day after the general election, they say that want to change and topple the present government but how?

"Let the government elected by the people, be it at the federal level and the state-level including the states under Pakatan, shows what it can do until the people make another decision in the next general election," he said.

He said Pakatan Rakyat's plan to form the government by luring Barisan Nasional elected representatives whom they claimed were immoral and corrupt also raised various questions.

He also said Parti Keadilan Rakyat advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim should focus on how to solve problems plaguing Pakatan Rakyat rather than kept on saying there would be a change of government.

"There are conflicts in Pakatan, for example between PAS which is striving for the formation of Islamic government and DAP which wants it be secular. Anwar should resolve these issues and help the five states under Pakatan," Dr Koh said.

He said that in a parliamentary democracy, it was the people who would elect the government but a street demonstration was not the way nor violence like what happened in Permatang Pauh Saturday.

"If they say they have rights, they should not act roughly on other people because each individual has the right to security and peace," he said.
