ALOR STAR, April 2 (Bernama) -- Acting Gerakan president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon has asked the people not to believe text messages circulating about land scams in Padang Tembak, Penang, and called on Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng to stop fanning the issue.
He said the land scam matter happened a long time ago and was being investigated by the Anti Corruption Agency since 2003.
"Let the authorities conduct their investigation and wait for their result. Do not speculate and confuse the people," he told reporters at the Kedah Gerakan office here Wednesday.
Lim recently said the Penang state government detected several land scams amounting to millions of ringgit and the state governments special land investigative committee would proceed with its own probe.
On Gerakan's course, Koh said the party was undergoing renewal to strengthen the party after the "political tsunami" that saw the Barisan National (BN) losing four states to the opposition.
"We have not given up hope and will continue working and fulfill our responsibilities to the people and the BN component parties," he said.
