Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia is proud to announce that the Tan Sri Dato’ Alex Lee Award (ALEA) is now in its nineth year! This award was established on 23 March 2000 in memory of the late Tan Sri Dato’ Alex Lee, the former Vice President and National Treasurer of the Party. He passed away on 31 Oct 1999 while scuba diving off Papua New Guinea. Saudara Alex Lee was later conferred the title of ‘Tan Sri’ posthumously by the King, Duli Yang Maha Mulia Yang DiPertua Agung, in conjunction with the King’s Birthday on 3 June 2000.
The objective of the award is to promote excellence amongst the children of Gerakan members, to encourage, motivate and assist students with outstanding academic achievement, and last but not least, to uphold the caring spirit of Gerakan and looking after the well being of members.
Cash award of RM1,000.00 (Ringgit Malayisa of One Thousand Only) and a certificate of recognition will be awarded to the qualified and approved applicants based on their current year examination
